Dr Richard Kgabu
Dr. Richard Kgabu is a qualified Specialist Orthopaedic and arthroplasty Surgeon.
He completed his
undergraduate studies at University of KwaZulu-Natal, and his post graduate master’s
degree at University of Witwatersrand and he successfully completed his College
of Medicine exams Fc (Orth) SA. He further undertook fellowship in arthroplasty
and limb reconstruction of hips and knees primary and revision replacement and
has international training for robotics and mini-invasive joint replacement
surgery
Dr. Kgabu has
experience in a variety of Orthopaedic procedures with a special interest in
primary and revisions hips and knees joint replacement surgeries and latest
trends in technology. He is a trained anterior mini-invasive hip and robotic
partial and total joint replacement surgeon.
He is known with his
ability to listen to his patients and treat them with care and respect, he is attentive,
and his practice is motivated by evidence-based medicine
Dr Kgabu is lecturer
at Witwatersrand University, he is a supervisor of registrar for their master’s
degree. He also participates as an examiner for both undergraduate and post
graduate exit exams.

After a very long gruesome journey of 8 months, to recovery from my first failed bi- literal knee replacement in 2022, Dr Kgabu found me and saved my depleted life within a short space of time! He took me through tests and all the processes needed prior my second bi- literal (review) which he performed with such care and poise.
